2015 Results

Congrats to all who braved uncertain conditions and joined us today in Gardner!  We all had low expectations (and I mean low!) for the weather and were pleasantly surprised.

Details, details...

*Directions: Exit 210 from I-35 (northbound or southbound) onto westbound 175th Street/Highway 56.  Proceed through the traffic light and then take the off-ramp (to the right) onto New Century Parkway, then an immediate left  and then right into the parking lot of New Century Field House.  Check-in and registration will be obvious.
*Race-day registration is from 7:00-8:30 am and costs $35.  There will be a short racers' meeting at 8:45 for some reminders, any last-minute updates and questions.
*Your USAC license (or a cell-phone image of it) must be available if you are a race-day registrant (BTW, your bib number will go on the right).
*First Rider Off at 9:00 am, in 1-minute intervals
*Remember, this is an Open Course!  The turn and turn-around will be controlled, however you very well may experience passing cars/trucks or cars/trucks turning in front of you onto the course.
*THIS IS A 10.0K COURSE and is not exactly the same as what you may be accustomed to!  The start is a few feet north of the intersection of New Century Parkway and Old Highway 56.  The new portion of the course is on "Industrial Parkway" (Google), or "North Loop" Road (per the street sign).  The course remains an out-and-back course.  The turn-around will be a counter-clockwise loop around the triangle on North Loop Road, near the hangars.
*Merckx Class: Alright, you "cannibals:" No TT-specific frames, no bar extensions, no rim depth greater than 36mm, no aero clothing (skinsuits, aero helmets, shoe covers, etc)!
*Questions? snowride23@gmail.com
*See you Sunday!

2015 Course Video

Here is the 10.0K course for 2015.  Note that the start is unchanged and mostly remains on New Century Parkway.  The turn-around consists of a counter-clockwise loop around the triangle...a 90-degree left turn plus 135-degree left turn.  Expect the line to be free of debris to the right of the markers (china hats).

Bigger Purse in 2015!

For 2015, cash prizes in the popular Merckx Class go four places deep, and first place for all Masters Classes have been increased to $35, however the price for pre-registration is the same!  You may still register on race day for $35 if you hope to make it but won't know until race day.  Remember race-day registration opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 8:30 a.m.  Make sure to check out the slightly different, more interesting and full 10.0K 2015 course below!  Check back here as the race approaches for more info, including directions, course and safety notes.  Hope to see you Memorial Day weekend!

2015 Route

Here is the route for 2015! After some high level reconnaissance, we have settled on this route for 2015. This route will make the course a full 10K. The turn-around is a very reasonable traffic triangle near the hangars and will be free of debris. The turn onto and off of Industrial Parkway will add 2 additional, but quite manageable turns to the course, which will be aptly marshaled.  The positives include good surface on Industrial Parkway, a possible respite from the usual south wind (although that may include cross winds!), and a little more interest.  The course largely remains on New Century Parkway.  You will notice the Start remains exactly the same and the Finish is on the slight curve just before you pass Parking/Registration at the New Century Field House.
